stepS - Study visit Norway

During the 90s, Norway launched a plan for the de-institutionalisation and development of PCS and CBS. In five years time the entire sector was changed and the de-institutionalisation process was finished.  Seeing is believing.

EASPD organised a study to visit Norway for managers and authorities from the 31st August - 3rd September, 2006. By organising this study visit, our aim was to convince authorities, that indeed it is possible to go trough a process of change with this sector and we hope to show managers that is is feasible when they have the right support from their authorities and back-up from the right legislation.

Implementation:

  • EASPD will organise the study visit in close cooperation with the Norwegian authorities.  A small EASPD delegation will meet the Norwegian Ministry of Labour and Inclusion as well as other organisations and NGOs that took part in the process.
  • It will be organised with a closes pocket, everybody will have to pay for its own expences.
