Yes, a number of service users would have in the past and currently access services within other agencies e.g. Brothers of Charity, Mental Health Services. These are currently community based, exact numbers of those who previously lived in institutions is not known.

The Clare Supported Employment Service aims to facilitate the integration of people with disabilities into paid employment in the open labour market by providing supports on the job.
Features of Service
County wide service, job coaches have specific responsibility for different geographical locations within County Clare.

Service can be accessed by all people with disabilities in Clare.

Job coach works individually with job seekers to identify skills, abilities, interests and ensure good job match.

Direct communication with employers providing advice, information and support on employing people with disabilities, promoting ability before disability. Conduct worksite analysis to identify potential jobs within company/organisation.

Inter agency work with organisations such as FÁS, Community Employment Scheme, Adult Education Service, Chamber of Commerce, Irish Business and Employers Federation, County Council, Health Boards, Mental Health Services. Included are activities such as presentations, exhibitions, collaborative training events, information gathering, ongoing development work within organisations e.g. Clare County Council promoting employment.
Outcomes
59 placements since beginning of service. 22 people with disabilities currently employed. Commitment from a number of organisations to work in partnership in identifying employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
