PROVIDER FORUM ROMANIA

October 10 -12 2006 and March 28-29 2007 in Miercurea – Ciuc ; July 3 2007 in Bucharest

 

Through the organisation of providers’ forums (aiming at networking and providing the information about the values and principles of the EU), EASPD wants to help local service providing organisations to set up umbrella structures for providers. Through these structures service providing organisations could communicate with each other in order to fine-tune the service provision and to exchange models of good practice amongst themselves and with other European Union countries.

 

1st event: Provider forum, Miercurea-Ciuc, 10-12th October 2006

The Orban Foundation from Odorheiu Secuiesc organized the event at local in cooperation with EASPD and Handicap International South East Europe. The County Council Harghita and Alpha Transilvana Foundation supported morally the event.

 

2nd event: Follow – up Providers Forum Miercurea – Ciuc, 28 - 29th of March 2007

The programme focused mainly on networking, models of good practice in this field and the SWOT analysis of the legislative framework. It was as well the official launching of the Romanian network of providers, DISABNET www.disabnet.ro. The event was organized locally the Orban Foundation from Odorheiu – Secuiesc in cooperation with EASPD and Handicap International in South East Europe.

 

3rd event: Meeting DISABNET, Bucharest, 3rd July 2007

The main theme of the meeting was the contracting of social services by organisations for people with disabilities.The audience consisted of directors and management of Romanian service provider organisations. Most of the participants were from the NGO side of the sector and providing services to people with all types of disabilities. There were as well some GOs active in the field of service provision for people with disabilities and representatives of central authorities from.
